11 December Herbst HRM 5.0.1 - The first version for 2003

This version incorporates amendments to the Emergency Basis of tax deduction and PRSI contribution which come into effect from 1 January 2003. It also includes all electronic transfers via ROS and EFT. Upgrade for our customers is available from Support Center. Read more about Herbst HRM >>

This version incorporates amendments to the Emergency Basis of tax deduction and PRSI contribution which come into effect from 1 January 2003.

Below the amendments are listed.

• The first amendment (Statutory Instrument No 559 of 2001) relates to the treatment of an employee who on taking up employment does not provide the employer with his or her Personal Public Service Number (PPSN). In these circumstances, the employer will be obliged to calculate the tax on the gross emoluments (after deduction of superannuation contributions and permanent health contributions where relevant) at the higher rate of tax and there will be no tax credits due.
• The second amendment will see the introduction of a Standard Rate Cut-Off Point into the Emergency Basis of tax deduction.
• From 1 January 2003 Annual PRSI contribution ceiling for employees' PRSI has been increased from EUR 38740 to EUR 40420 (Server Manager -> Payroll Settings).

4 December Herbst HRM 4.0.4

A new version supports P30, P35L, P45 export to XML-file for submission via ROS. A set of new fields required in P45 has been added to the Employee Record. P45 Report now is closer to real Revenue's P45 forms. P35L Report doesn't show unpaid employees.

29 November Herbst Insight 2.0.18

Back-to-Back document licence allows any type of document to be mirrored i.e.  purchase invoice to sales order or invoice; Extended  quick view lists;  join trader accounts utility; Automatic due Creditor payments; EFTS licence (electronic bank transfers); Facility to allow or decline   negative  stock levels; Contracts and Bank Control Ledgers extended; and many more small features keeping Insight ahead as one of the most advanced business and management systems with fully integrated accounts.

• Ability to edit lodged cheques. Now we just show a warning to an user before
  start editing.
• Details field in NL account transaction list (customer, supplier, etc).

New features:

• A lot of new quick view pages appeared for contracts and contract interface enhanced in documents. All documents with contract field can be created in the Contract list.
• Now prices have customisable decimal point scale in the pricing schedule up to 4 decimals, If you charge for example 54.78 cents for a product you will need this. (Oil industry or business' who deal in fractions of cents).
• Now you can add some more information to Print List Forms (Computer name, User name, from and to dates, currency symbol, etc.). You can easily do it in Designer thanks to a new variable pipeline. This will make the easy Grid reports more specific.
• EDI Tesco Invoice and Order Export Module available.
• Now you can edit attachments.
• New shortcuts were added for main lists.

15 August Herbst Insight 2.0.16

We added some important features to the new release of Herbst Insight 2. Contracts for customers, analysis table and chart printing, price rebate columns, optimised gross profit calculation and more.

The new feature are listed bellow:

• New! Contract ledger. You can store and create all the contracts and attach them to a customer. In the Customer Folder or Contract Ledger you can view and drill down to all transactions belonging to specific contracts. This allows you to see in your customer's specific contract, all your sales transactions, receipts etc. as well as all your purchases and payments.

  A customer can have an unlimited amount of contracts. The usual analysis tools, multi-contract views will become a very useful tool to observe cash flow, incoming, outgoing, outstanding orders, accruals and in general, give you management control of specific contracts.

  The contracts can be viewed in the new contract ledger or in the customer folder. Attachments to the contracts allow spreadsheets, correspondence and pricing tables etc relating to the specific contract.

  Any transaction (sale order/delivery/invoice/purchase order/receipt/invoice/receive payments/issue payments etc.) offers you, if required, to choose from the customer's existing contracts and add the transaction to the contract. Reports and Grid views gives overall views of the Status with drill down facilities. Project managers and Financial Controllers have a "live" overview of any contract.

  Very Suitable for Builders, Quarries, or any Insight User who needs to control of physical stocks, profit analysis and cash flow specific to Sales Contracts.

• The analysis tool that is used for analysing the highlighted items in the list, generate a table and a chart. You can now directly print out all of the analysis information that is calculated, from the your computer screen to your printer in Herbst Insight Report Format.
• Archive directory path is available in Connection Options dialog. So now you can take system back-ups to a specified path, rather than taking the default path to the Insight Server folder
• Price Rebate Analysis. To analyse the discount given to customers from the Normal price. (Typically used by the Oil business or if you want to control the sales for less or more than the standard pricing) .Price rebate column is available for analysis in sales items lists.
• We have optimised gross profit calculation.
• If you have the weighbridge module, it is now possible to create weigh documents through Customer and Supplier lists (Actions button).

We are delighted to announce the release of the first version of Herbst HRM for United Kingdom. Herbst HRM UK is an advanced, comprehensive human resource and payroll system. Herbst HRM UK includes all necessary modules - full payroll for UK, working contracts, safety statements, comprehensive reports and elaborate job costing module that is distinguished by its job templates feature. 4 July Herbst Insight 2.0.15

• Haulier time/quantity purchase invoice/order.
  Now you can easily convert SI, SICN, DD, DDRN, PI, PICN, RD, RDRN, WI, WO to haulier invoice/order. This feature is available with haulier licence. If you buy or sell products and you expect a haulier to invoice you for the transport of the goods you now can create a "self billing Purchase invoice/order" which will credit the Haulier with the agreed charges. Typically used in Bulk deliveries etc. You can either pick up the time used or quantity delivered information from the document. This allows you to have a haulage control and live liability control.
  This is implemented with the "Haulier Licence"
• Customisable numeric view item format.
  It's possible to use system thousand separator in user's option. Security -> Users -> Options the user can opt to see a 1000 divider in all figures in the grids. You see ˆ 10000000.00 now as ˆ 1,000,000.00.
• "This Period Last Year".
  New predefined period in dates panel. To quick view "how did we do the same period last month" select the new Quick selection "Last Year this period".
• Notes templates.
  It's possible to create predefined notes templates. Notes become more important to avoid memory blocks! To speed up the use you can create templates and select them when appropriate. To add go to Settings->General->Notes Templates
  i.e. Statement agreed or Balance disagreed or Payment promised etc etc. When you add a note to selected or individual accounts for example with keystroke ctrl/Alt/N beside the "sign" is a select arrow which allows you to select your templates. The time, user and template is stamped in the notes. Very useful for many purposes. With find in Notes you could for example find all disagreed accounts. You also do not have to file supplier statements once you have agreed your accounts etc.
• Now special prices have currency
• Predefined "Account Service Charges" view is added to the list of sale items. This is a neat function for multi currency customers. Lets say you quote in Dollar a specific price for a specific customer, you can fix the dollar price independent from your currency settings. You could quote in multiple currencies and whatever currency you select to invoice the price fixed in this currency is used.

The Final of  the USA-Ireland Match April 2002

It was all to play for going in to the final game of the 11th Annual Winter Season Tournament for the Winter Cup at Polo Wicklow. Ireland and USA each held a win as Sunday’s final game line-out of Sean Reynolds, Siobhan Herbst, Martin Iturraspe (Ireland), Eileen Flynn, Jennifer Costain, and Jim De Angeles with alternate Liz Brayboy (USA) took their positions in the arena to begin six final chukkas of fast, 8-goal arena polo.

USA drew first blood, but Siobhan Herbst quickly tied it up, then drew Ireland ahead early in the first chukka. Umpire Chris Murphy had his work cut out for him as hot-blooded power-player professional Jim De Angeles slammed through a goal to tie it up again, then Ireland’s Sean Reynolds neatly took out Yale University Polo Manager Eileen Flynn, leaving it open for Ireland professional Martin Iturraspe to sscore his first goal of the final game. That goal wass the first of many to earn him the honour of player of the match game, and the title, “Mr. Mercury”, so like quicksilver was his flawless playing throughout the game.

Iturraspe set out in the second chukka as he meant to finish the game, drawing Ireland further ahead of USA WITH EACH GOAL. Siobhan Herbst backed him up, and Sean Reynolds played strong defense, cleaning up lost balls and keeping them for the dynamic Irish duo. An Irish foul helped USA, but not enough to catch up with Ireland ahead on five goals to USA’s 2 at the end of the second chukka.

Ireland kept the pressure on in the third chukka, matching goal for goal despite Eileen Flynn’s strong coaching and De Angeles’ powerful plays on goal. The chukka closed with Ireland ahead on 8 goals to 5.

De Angeles opened the fourth chukka with a spectacular 50-yard goal. Ireland matched that one again, then committed a series of fouls during the chukka that USA could not cash in on as each free goal went wide of the mark. Iturraspe shot one through, then De Angeles nailed a goal despite Iturraspe’s quicksilver actions at chukka’s close.

Ireland took over the game during the fifth chukka and never looked back. A short-lived American rally began with De Angeles’ bouncing-hit goal and ended as first Iturraspe scored, then Herbst and Reynolds double-teamed a free-hit to the goal. Iturraspe’s final-seconds-of-chukka goal put Ireland ahead on 17 goals to USA’s 8.

Herbst and Iturraspe flowed across the arena as sixth chukka play got underway. Iturraspe scored, then chased the ball to the Irish goal after the throw-in, then galloped it back to the American goal to score again. De Angeles scored a high-flying free-hit after an Irish foul, then Iturraspe and Herbst teamed up, but let a nice goal by De Angeles and Flynn through. Iturraspe and Herbst finished up with one more goal as the final bell went. Ireland won on 21 goals to USA’s well-earned 10, and the Winter Cup remains in Ireland – at least for one more year!
