This version incorporates PAYE tax bands coming into force from 18 May 2004 and uses new database server Firebird 1.5.

The rates of tax and bandwidths are as follows:
Starting Rate 10% - up to ₤2,020;
Basic Rate 22% - ₤2,021 to ₤31,400;
Higher Rate 40% - over ₤31,400.

The first version for the 2004-05 tax year incorporates the latest statutory requirements, coming into effect from 6 April 2004. New features in payroll modules. Improved graphic user interface.

Statutory changes for the 2004-05 tax year starting on 6th April 2004:

New NIC rates and limits;
New statutory payment (SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP) rates;
Temporary NINO are no longer in use.

Other payroll improvements:

SMP: support for some special cases;
Pension module: optimized list of supported pension scheme kinds;
Timesheets: checking on compatibility between pension scheme kinds and NIC Category Letter.

Car and fuel module improvements:

We are proud to announce immediate availability of new Herbst Insight 2.0.25, which has many new features and improvements including:

New installation program. improvements in areas of ease of use and function. Build now on Microsoft Windows Installer V2 technology, makes the installation process smoother, and insures greater compatibility with existing installed software.
Products, Customers, Suppliers, Hauliers, Consignees, Potential customers accounts got the attribute "Is Active". This allow significantly improve system performance by filtering out not active object (which can not be deleted from the system because of transaction history or other linked objects), reducing network traffic and optimising server resources utilisation.
Bill of Material module (BOM) has been significantly improved. BOM's has a new design which gives an easier and clearer understanding of the module. Costing method during assembly is set in Company Defaults dialog. BOM dialog features now Find tool, which is especially useful for large BOMs, as well as handy facility to quickly add part to BOM by product code.
Conversion (orders to invoices) now works ONLY on selected items in Sale/Purchase items lists

This version of Herbst HRM improves the reporting module adding new report kind Stationary, New Employee Form template and Laser Security Payslip. Sort fields are now available in payslips and Payment Summary report. User interface is MDI now and includes new fully customizable toolbars and HRM Navigation Bar. HRM is supplied with a new installation program and a new version of Herbst DAI.

The latest update includes a new Account module intended to manage employees' loan and savings accounts. Up to five accounts can be used for every employee allowing to accumulate deductions from his/her salary or wages to repay loans or other debts or to contribute to savings accounts like Christmas box accumulation. Another new feature of this version, four decimals in employee hourly rates, allows to calculate wages with greater accuracy.
