Reporting

The Herbst Insight quick view grid system negates the needs for hard copy reports in the most part as management can view all the data they need on line as they need it and make informed decisions or take action immediately, however, there are always those who prefer to have a physical report in front of them or for distribution to a wider range of audience and one of the nice things about Herbst Insight is that it caters for both of these requirements. Herbst Insight offers numerous reporting capabilities from on screen customisable views to multi-company reporting. Users have virtually unlimited access to all the data, depending on their user profile, and can use this data and the Herbst Insight tools to create sophisticated queries and calculations.

The unique Grid View system, which presents the data in familiar spreadsheet format with flexible sorting, filtering and analysis capabilities is easy to navigate and modify. User specific views can be created and users can also manipulate their own views from within their given views and data access rights. Users and management can view the data online and make decisions and/or take actions immediately without having to wait for print outs.

Quick View allows users to select a particular set of records and analyse them on screen as a group using one of the default quick views such as sales by product type.

Reports allow users to select one or more records and then select a print report format to print out the selected records. The list of default print layouts is in no way restrictive and can be customised and expanded as required.

Users can also Drill Down from summary data to detailed transactional data for tracking and step-by-step investigations or use the flexible quick click Analysis Tool to drill down and analyse data in more depth e.g. a break down of the total value of sales posted on each day.

Form Designer

As it can be expected from Herbst Technology any standard documentation forms can be modified and new ones created to satisfy all aspects of a business.

Report Desktop

There are numerous pre-configured, but highly customisable reports for each module - sales, purchases, bank and cash, nominal ledger, products etc. Within sales for instance there are numerous customer and product sales/sales inactivity reports for management to review and analyse. The report layouts and contents can be modified to match business requirements and new reports created from scratch or by copying and modifying a similar existing report, thereby saving time and effort.

Nominal ledger reports include the standard end of year/period statutory reports such as Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, Working Capital, Trial Balance etc., as well as offering extreme flexibility in creating other ad hoc reports based on selected nominal ledger accounts and the level of detail that should be presented within these accounts.

The reports can be broken down by cost centre and the product, customer, supplier and nominal ledger's sort groups which can hold numerous user designated values can be utilised to create comprehensive and meaningful reports based on the sort group values. Any reports created can be saved for future retrieval and referral and in keeping with the strong Herbst Insight security system access to reports can be restricted based on user privilege levels as can the authority to modify or create new forms or reports.
